Room to Grow

Designed for a young girl with both the present and the years ahead in mind, this bedroom balances playfulness with a sense of permanence. Warm ochre millwork wraps the room in color, while smoked oak, deep green velvet, soft pinks, and collected vintage pieces create a palette that feels youthful without being overly sweet.

Rather than designing around a traditional bedroom arrangement, the full size bed was turned sideways and paired with an oversized curved headboard to create the feeling of a daybed. The configuration opens up additional floor space for play now while allowing the room to evolve easily as she grows. Thoughtful storage throughout further supports the transition from childhood into the years ahead.

Layered textiles, petite florals, vintage artwork, and an antique nightstand bring softness and personality to the room, while more substantial furniture pieces provide a timeless foundation. The result is a bedroom designed not simply for one stage of childhood, but for the many seasons to come.
