Southworth Interior Design is a boutique interior design studio based in Bakersfield, California, serving clients throughout the American West. We specialize in custom remodels and full service interior design for homes that value both beauty and function.

We believe an intentionally designed home sets the tone for everyday life and that good design has the power to improve the
way individuals and families live within their spaces. Rather than subscribing to trends, we focus on creating interiors with character, depth, and longevity.
Central to our design approach is a love of color, pattern, and textiles. We design spaces that feel warm yet elegant, lived in rather than staged. By layering timeless materials with personal artifacts, we create homes that feel meaningful from the start and continue to evolve beautifully over time.

Ashley Southworth is the Founder and Creative Director of Southworth Interior Design. Her passion for interiors began early, shaped by childhood afternoons spent in her grandmother’s antique store where she developed a deep appreciation for objects that carry story and memory.
Ashley earned her Masters Degree from Point Loma University and spent years working as a special education teacher, program specialist, and professor before completing her Interior Design Certification through the Academy of Interior Design in Los Angeles. She leads her studio with passion and authenticity, approaching each project with honesty, empathy, and great care.
Ashley believes that no two clients are alike and that homes should reflect the people who live in them. Rather than following trends, she works closely with clients to hone in on the true character of their spaces, creating interiors that are timeless, personal, and enduring.

Southworth Interior Design is intentionally small and deeply collaborative. We pride ourselves on a professional yet down to earth approach, creating an experience where clients feel supported, heard, and at ease throughout the design process.
